Newest prototype, called 20 Minutes of Terror, was successfully previewed at Guardian Games in Aloha, Oregon. A playtest group of experienced game creators gave some great low key feedback, showing the game is good for balance, theme and playability. A few "quality of life" and manufacturing enhancements were offered. Guardian Games offers "Fresh Games" a playtesting night every other Thursday. If you're into building games, you have to give it a try!
Right now 20 Minutes is in the "CAD" (Cardboard Aided Design) mode, with one more play test cycle, I'll build a real manufacturing prototype. Support your local game store, keep gaming alive in your community. Pictures here soon!

It is GameStorm time again, and that means GameLab! Last year's preview of EARTHVASION! went really well. The GameStorm crowd knows their stuff. Learn to Swim will be demoing Saturday March 30th at 7pm. Learn to Swim is an abstract game for 2 to 4 players. Set in a dystopian future, the water is coming! Your faction members follow your commands and the panicking sheeples follow anybody moving out of the area. Get as many of your faction and the sheeples to the center of the board and out to safety. Each players turn ends with a tile succumbing to the flood, and any sheeples or faction members on a tile that floods gets to Learn to Swim.
Please stop by and visit, and thanks for visiting Mostly Normal Games.com Earthvasion! is a fun game I've gone from prototype to Beta and is basically ready for production. In like a month! I know, crazy. But that's the secret of making a game. You don't just sit down and crank one of the puppies out. You stew on it for months. LONG months, like winter months. Then you get lucky and find some really cool art with an easy-peasy license on it. (Always respect your artists copyrights people!) and bam head off to https://www.thegamecrafter.com/ and get your prototype made.
Earthvasion! is a fast paced have at you style game where your trying to round up the Humans before the Galactic Commission stops you. Attacking "lesser species" is some sort of war crime or something. Once rounded up, all those humans are now usable as fodder in your cloning vats, allowing you to rebuild your merc army and head off to the next job. But those wily humans will riot if a General shows up to lead them, and if they have more rioters than you have Warriors, then it sucks to be you and the rest of the table. But if your a secret human sympathizer, you might have just won! Secret victory conditions with multiple winning options makes yesterday's enemy into tomorrow's friend. Play testing is the key way to make sure your game is ready to take over the tabletop. You think Klaus Teuber just shipped the first version of Catan? He probably did, but us mortals need to make sure the game is something that is fun, fair and not hiding any bad habits. Not like your/you're bad habits, I'm talking about a card that ruins everyone's evening! That's a big no bueno. I've been giving Title Titan a work out at my awesome local game store, Rainy Day Games. Local game stores are the best. Meet like minded folk, play new and unusual games, and fondle all sorts of fun merch. Yeah, you can buy stuff online or whatever, but you can't be a local game store for sound advice, most have a library of games you can try before you buy, and hit keeps the local economy running. Keep playing!
